The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) developed ToxCast as a high-throughput screening program designed to evaluate the potential toxicity of thousands of chemicals. By using advanced computational methods and a variety of biological assays, ToxCast aims to predict the toxicological profiles of chemicals more efficiently than traditional methods. It integrates data from in vitro assays, which examine chemical effects on living cells and biological pathways, to predict in vivo outcomes in humans and animals.
