The dose-response relationship is a fundamental principle in toxicology. It describes the correlation between the dose of a toxicant and the magnitude of the response. Typically, the response increases with the dose up to a certain point, known as the threshold level. Below this level, no significant adverse effects are observed. Above it, the severity of the response increases.
