At typical atmospheric concentrations, CO2 is not harmful to human health. However, in confined or poorly ventilated spaces, CO2 can accumulate to levels that pose a health risk. Elevated CO2 levels can lead to symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath, and in severe cases, unconsciousness or even death. This is particularly a concern in occupational settings, such as underground mining or industrial plants, where workers might be exposed to higher CO2 concentrations.
