The king cobra delivers its venom through a pair of fangs that are fixed at the front of its mouth. These fangs are shorter than those of vipers but are efficient in injecting venom deep into the tissue of its prey or an intruder. The snake's ability to control its venom release allows it to conserve venom when subduing prey or defending itself.
