Collecting dose-response data from toxicological studies. Choosing an appropriate statistical model to fit the data, such as a linear, exponential, or logistic model. Estimating the BMD by identifying the dose level that corresponds to the BMR. Calculating the BMDL by determining the lower bound of the confidence interval for the estimated BMD, often at the 95% confidence level.
The choice of model and the BMR are critical as they influence the resulting BMDL.
