Dissolved solids refer to any substances that are present in water in a dissolved form. These can include inorganic salts, such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, bicarbonates, chlorides, and sulfates, as well as small amounts of organic matter. The total concentration of these substances is typically measured as Total Dissolved Solids (TDS).
