What are the Limitations of Optical Microscopy in Toxicology?
Despite its advantages, optical microscopy has limitations. The resolution is limited by the wavelength of visible light, restricting the detailed observation of structures smaller than 200 nanometers. Additionally, the preparation of samples can be time-consuming, and certain techniques, like fluorescence microscopy, require specialized reagents which may alter the specimen. Another challenge is the potential for observer bias during qualitative analysis.
