Despite its advantages, regression imputation has limitations:
Assumption of Linearity: This method assumes a linear relationship between variables, which may not always hold true in complex biological systems. Potential Overfitting: The model might fit the noise rather than the signal, especially with small sample sizes or when the number of predictors is large. Underestimation of Variability: Regression imputation can underestimate the variability of the data since it uses predicted values, which might be more precise than the true values.
