The treatment of cardiac glycoside toxicity involves both supportive care and specific interventions. Initial treatment focuses on stabilizing the patient, monitoring vital signs, and correcting any electrolyte imbalances, particularly potassium levels. In cases of severe toxicity, specific antidotes such as digoxin immune Fab (ovine) may be administered to bind free digoxin molecules, thereby reducing their bioavailability and toxicity.
