chronopharmacology

What is Chronopharmacology?

Chronopharmacology is the study of how biological rhythms, such as circadian rhythms, affect the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs. These rhythms are intrinsic cycles that follow a roughly 24-hour period and influence various physiological processes, including hormone release, metabolism, and cell regeneration. This field of study looks at how these cycles can alter drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME), as well as the body's response to drugs.
