A waiver may be granted under several circumstances:
When there is robust existing data that adequately addresses the safety concerns for a specific endpoint. When the chemical in question is structurally similar to another well-studied substance, and it is reasonable to predict similar toxicological properties. If alternative testing methods, such as in vitro or in silico models, provide sufficient safety data. When human exposure is expected to be negligible or the anticipated exposure levels are below the threshold of toxicological concern.
