In response to growing environmental and health concerns, there is ongoing research to develop alternatives to PET. Biodegradable polymers, such as polylactic acid (PLA), are being explored as potential substitutes. These materials offer the advantage of breaking down more readily in natural environments. However, they also present challenges in terms of cost, performance, and scalability. Hybrid materials that combine the strengths of PET with biodegradable components are also under investigation.
