What Are the Key Components of Network Segmentation?
Key components of network segmentation include firewalls, VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks), and access control lists (ACLs). Firewalls act as barriers between segments, monitoring and controlling incoming and outgoing network traffic. VLANs allow for the logical segmentation of a network, even if the devices are physically located on the same network. ACLs further refine the control by specifying which users or devices can access particular segments.
