What Causes Fulminant Hepatic Failure in Toxicology?
FHF can be triggered by various hepatotoxic agents. The most common cause is acetaminophen overdose, which is responsible for a significant number of cases. Other drugs like isoniazid, valproic acid, and halothane can also lead to FHF. Additionally, exposure to certain natural toxins such as Amanita phalloides (death cap mushroom) and industrial chemicals like carbon tetrachloride may result in this condition.
