A toxidrome refers to a group of clinical signs, symptoms, and laboratory findings that suggest a specific type of poisoning. These patterns can be extremely useful in diagnosing the cause of poisoning when a specific history is not available. For instance, a patient may present to the emergency room with a decreased level of consciousness, pinpoint pupils, and respiratory depressionâthese symptoms are characteristic of the opioid toxidrome.
