How is Aluminum Absorbed, Distributed, and Excreted?
Aluminum can enter the body through the gastrointestinal tract, lungs, or skin. Once absorbed, it is distributed throughout the body, primarily accumulating in the bones, liver, and kidneys. The majority of absorbed aluminum is excreted via the kidneys in urine, but some may be retained in the body, particularly in individuals with impaired kidney function.
