Cancer cells are cells that have undergone genetic mutations causing them to grow and divide uncontrollably. Unlike normal cells, they evade apoptosis, the programmed cell death process, and can invade other tissues. These cells can form tumors, disrupt normal bodily functions, and spread to distant parts of the body through a process called metastasis.
