Many substances can act as photoallergens, including certain medications like sulfonamides, tetracyclines, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as well as some fragrances and sunscreen ingredients. These substances alone typically do not cause a reaction until they are activated by UV light.
