Several toxicants are known to affect heart rate. Cardiotoxic drugs, such as certain chemotherapy agents, can lead to heart rate abnormalities. Pesticides, particularly organophosphates, can cause bradycardia (slowed heart rate). Stimulants like cocaine and methamphetamine can cause tachycardia (increased heart rate).
