MAPK pathways are a family of protein kinases that transduce extracellular signals into cellular responses. The three major MAPK pathways include the ERK pathway, the JNK pathway, and the p38 pathway. Each of these pathways consists of a cascade of kinases that sequentially activate each other, ultimately leading to the activation of transcription factors that regulate gene expression.
