Despite their effectiveness, AOPs have some limitations. They can be energy-intensive and expensive to implement, especially on a large scale. The formation of secondary pollutants or byproducts during the oxidation process is another concern, as these may still pose toxicity risks. Moreover, the scalability and operational complexity of AOP systems can limit their practical application.
