Several CYP450 enzymes are particularly noteworthy in toxicology. CYP3A4, CYP2D6, CYP2C9, and CYP1A2 are among the most significant. Each of these enzymes metabolizes a wide range of substances. For example, CYP3A4 is responsible for the metabolism of nearly half of all marketed drugs, while CYP2D6 is known for its role in metabolizing antidepressants and opioids.
