FAS is characterized by a triad of symptoms: distinctive facial features, growth deficiencies, and neurodevelopmental abnormalities. Facial features may include a smooth philtrum, thin upper lip, and small palpebral fissures. Growth deficiencies can manifest as low birth weight and short stature. Neurodevelopmental issues range from intellectual disabilities to behavioral problems and learning difficulties.
