Are There Limitations in Using Antibodies for Toxicology?
While antibodies are highly specific, they do have limitations. One major challenge is the potential for cross-reactivity, where an antibody might bind to similar but unintended substances, leading to false positives. Additionally, the production of antibodies can be time-consuming and costly, and their stability can vary significantly, affecting the accuracy of results over time. Advances in technology, however, are continually improving the reliability and efficiency of antibody-based toxicological methods.
