How Does TEM Compare to Other Imaging Techniques in Toxicology?
Compared to other imaging techniques like scanning electron microscopy (SEM) or confocal microscopy, TEM provides superior resolution and the ability to observe internal cellular structures. However, TEM cannot image live cells due to the vacuum environment required for electron transmission, which is a limitation compared to techniques that allow for live-cell imaging. Each method has its specific applications and can complement one another in comprehensive toxicological studies.
